First steps
Do these before calling anyone.
- Move furniture and electricals away from the water
- Put a container under the drip and, if a ceiling is bulging, pierce it carefully at the lowest point to release the water in a controlled way
- Turn off electrics to any affected circuit
- Photograph everything — insurers ask for this
- Do not go onto the roof yourself in wind or rain
What we do first
An emergency visit is about making things safe and stopping the damage, not selling a large job. Once it is stable and dry we inspect properly and quote the permanent repair in writing.
Insurance
Most home policies cover sudden escape of water or storm damage but not gradual deterioration. Photographs, dated notes and an itemised report from the trade all strengthen a claim. We provide the report as standard.
Common questions
- How fast can someone attend?
- Emergencies are usually attended within 24 hours, and often the same day depending on your area.
- Will you work with my insurer?
- Yes — we provide photographs and an itemised report you can submit with a claim.
